For anyone who has not seen this book it is well worth a download. Eliab Capron was one of the leading supporters of the Fox Sisters from 1848 after the move to Rochester. The only weak spot is a critical date error, never corrected, in the main text he says that the Corinthian Hall demonstration took place in 1848. The Hall was not completed until 1849 and the adverts for the event, which he includes as an appendix, are clearly dated 1849.

Of course there was an earlier book about the events at Corinthian Hall, written in conjunction with a Mr Barron, which can be downloaded here. http://books.google.com.au/books?id=niYPAAAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=capron+and+barron&hl=en&sa=X&ei=KuJVUuDdPMyFlQXD3oCIDQ&ved=0CDAQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false

Then there is a mandatory read of the April 1848 report on the Hydesville rappings

If people who are interested in history read these and avoided retrospective assemblies of the events many errors would be removed from the published history of Spiritualism.
