New book 'Transcognitive Spirituality'
I have decided to start again with this thread in a way that removes all the erroneous content and promotes the book in a way that it should have been if Robert came to me first. He could then have added some other thoughts after my post or responded to specific queries. The ill feeling and bad will shown not least by the supporters of Robert really means the whole thread should have been removed and will be if hostility is resumed.
However, as Mac and Obi have said there is no problem in bringing a work like this to the attention of forum members but it does require cooperation with the site owners to get results.
I have indeed deleted promotional material in the past where it is so beyond our philosophy. However, in this case I had decided to leave it in place because, to some extent, I was intrigued at the concept if not the way it appeared on here or what ensued from questioning a right to advertise.
Apparently Robert Goodwin has published a new book called "Transcognitive Spirituality.
By reports from the UK Robert is one of the leading Trance Mediums for Philosophy. Information about his trance work can be found in two editions of Psychic News last year, where the editor is very complementary of his work and on his website http://www.whitefeather.org.uk/ where the new book can be ordered.
His description of the book is
Now some people on this site may be interested in this work and may find it interesting. I stress that I have not read the book, have no idea of the nature of its connection to Modern Spiritualism and can therefore not endorse it nor does this site.
Neither have I any experience, other than the Psychic News article (14th and 28th Jan 2012) to support his trance work. It was an interesting piece and shows that Robert has a thoughtful guide but I would expect that, given it is strongly supportive of reincarnation by our own choice, it could be seen as controversial with positions marginally different to Imperator and Silver Birch.
The ideas are hard to argue with no forced return, this is the only way I could see reincarnation working and not as punishment. However I may wonder about the guides comment of time after time. This the only thing that I may argue with because of Why? Still that is a separate issue which may be worth a debate elsewhere on the forum in the trance mediumship area.
Robert has confirmed that this new book is not through trance but from his own ideas, reading and research.
Hopefully we will get a review of the book somewhere in the near future which may help people evaluate whether they wish to purchase it. Others on here may wish to write on their thoughts of the book, good or bad, if they buy it and read it.
I am unsure whether I will read this at this time or even soon but it may well appeal to many.
Hopefully if discussion restarts it can take a different path now. However, now the book is on here should people wish to discus or disagree with its content then that may happen

His description of the book is
A new book 'Transcognitive Spirituality' has just been published. A new paradigm is emerging; giving rise to the convergence of scientific and esoteric thinking that is transforming human understanding about the nature of life itself. For centuries, philosophers and spiritual thinkers alike have speculated upon the purpose of our being, the afterlife and the existence of God. In contrast, science has followed the route of discovery through the empirical method of experimentation leading to many wonderful discoveries and inventions. Now, for the first time, these two approaches, so often seen as being in opposition are converging into a unified whole, resulting in a new way of thinking and the development of scientific spirituality.
The author, himself a medium and spiritual teacher, outlines the path now being embraced by all who are open to this exciting shift in awareness and expanded view of 'reality'. Drawing upon his vast experience and insight into the afterlife, coupled with the desire to provide factual evidence and research to support his theories, Robert treads a path that leads the reader to ever‐greater heights of self‐discovery and illumination.
Topics covered include the nature of reality, quantum worlds, the holographic universe, time, the afterlife, the power of DNA, resonant fields and the emergence of the new paradigm, amongst others.
Transcognitive Spirituality is written from the layman's perspective and will undoubtedly open up many new doors of perception for those seeking to comprehend the universe in which we live. With over fifty helpful and instructive illustrations to compliment the narrative it is sure to both inform and delight the true seeker of enlightenment

OK we are back on track but not as an advert but as a point of interest people may wish to ask about.

Jim/Admin you just removed comments from this thread, I would like you to acknowledge the fact that Mac, Obiwan, and yourself were out of order attacking Robert the way you did, as so-called Spiritualists, your comments which you deleted belie that. Are you going to delete this now?

Re: New book 'Transcognitive Spirituality'
Mark if you wish to continue this then I accept that those are your feelings I personally am as appalled by what was said by other contributors who took Roberts side as you seem to be with what was said by us. No apologies from Mac, Obi or myself and I am not asking for any from you, Robert and An Observer. This thread either moves on or is deleted.

Re: New book 'Transcognitive Spirituality'
In deleting it it does remove one extra chance for people to hear about the book but I would, on the basis of my experience be happy to do that unless some attitudes change.

You should have said that before you passed judgement on the comments you ''deleted''. For that reason I couldn't be bothered with this forum.

A deep breath or two by all concerned would be in order here

Re: New book 'Transcognitive Spirituality'
I'll go with your approach, Jim. I've said my piece, I'm comfortable with your approach and it's your website anyway!
I think you're being more than fair about this book after all the brouhaha.

I am sad about that but do not intend to regurgitate the past on this thread, suffice to say Obi, mac and I did not react for nothing.
As I said there are two simple choices here the thread goes entirely or it stays with logical discussion once again.

This may help people understand Roberts' ideas better.

I don't think we were at all out of order.

Re: New book 'Transcognitive Spirituality'
In all cases where someone claims the need to be 'right ' then a 'wrong doing' must also be implied. Also a denial of culpability invariably leaves a stain somewhere else.
The comments that where made are now obviously gone so reference to them is no longer possible. However, while being completely happy to move on, I would with due respect to all involved just say, that something did happen here. There is an opportunity for all involved to examine carefully what did happen, and to privately 'own' whatever portion belongs to them. A blanket denial of any responsibility is exactly that... a denial... So I wish all parties well and hope that the honesty and clarity that exists within us all, can help us all to see exactly 'how we did that'.... Best wishes to all....

Re: New book 'Transcognitive Spirituality'
Do you know I'm now heartily sick of the continued lecturing, hectoring tone and criticism from this new member, the one who joined just to have a pop at us and is continuing in that vein - despite your requests to leave things be.
I was not unhappy that you'd left Robert Goodwin's book thread in this forum but I'm now of the view, Jim, that you should either pull the thread or pull this member.

I think the key part which is being said here is all parties I have gained enough of an insight into An Observers approach to know he includes himself Mac which is really a positive approach.
Let us hope we can let this thread evolve in a new way, I look forward to comments about the books content

Not sure about that but I am trying here, beats kicking next doors cat (especially as it runs much faster than I do so I would be the one to get hurt).

Re: New book 'Transcognitive Spirituality'
I would like to know what the book has in it that would be of interest to spiritualists, who I assume would be mainly interested in evidence of survival?

And this Modern Spiritualist would like to know if there's anything in it that's not been taught before - as Spiritualists we're likely to already have seen/heard/experienced/ read about all the survival evidence we ever needed.
Haven't we?

‘Transcognitive Spiritualty’ - Robert Goodwin
This excellent book attempts to assist us in updating the spiritual tangibles that we all sense, to flesh them out in words, to bring them forward into our regular awareness – unblocking the entrances to the reality within. Trying to throw revealing Light onto the still hidden, ‘Kingdom of heaven within’ spoken of by countless clerics, but all stopping short of pushing their self-destruct button by attempting an explanation.
Life is deathless and is always in the hands of Itself.
‘Transcognitive Spirituality’ challenges pre-concepts in the same way that Arthur Findlay once did with his classic ‘On The Edge of the Etheric’, by providing a taste of what today is dimly perceived but offering a feast for tomorrow
