Ok here is a review, by Tom Ruffles of the SPR, on a book calculated to draw you on a pub crawl of North East England

Aaaa, the hauntings of the North East.
Being born and raised a Geordie,I know something of those.
The pub situated in Alnwick is well known.
If it is the one I'm thinking of,has a glass bottle in a small window fronting the main street of Alnwick.
Thogh there are two pubs in Alnwick reputed to be haunted.
Not sure of the names of both of them. Long time since I lived up there.

The glass bottle in the window of the high street of the town, has a explanation about the history. Primarily saying if the bottle is removed, disaster will fall.

The small window is covered inside with dust. Even when renovations were carried out years ago to the pub, that window was never touched.
Remains the same today as it did many years ago.
Interesting history.
