Psychic or Medium
Most people think that a psychic is also a medium or vice versa. However, these two terms are totally different from one another. If you want to get the services of a psychic or a medium, you have to know their different capabilities in order to get accurate insights into the spiritual world.
First of all, a medium has psychic abilities but not all psychics are capable of becoming mediums.
A medium can directly communicate with the spirits in the afterlife. This special ability can not be performed by a psychic.
A medium serves as a channel between the world of the living and the afterlife to prove survival, give spiritual healing and give hope eternal to the bereaved and this is beyond the abilities of any psychic.
On the other hand, a psychic might foretell the future by using several ways. For example, a psychic might provide insights for you concerning relationships, career, money, or love by reading your aura or energy.
A medium can foresee these things or future events however will not pass it on to a recipient except on very general terms . Mediums are not allowed to direct a recipients life in any way shape or form
A medium reads the messages from the spirits in the afterlife. This means the reader will just transmit to the sitter the messages or signals from the spiritual world.
In contrast, a psychic reads your aura and the presence that could influence your future. This means that a psychic directly interacts with the sitter and will not be able to contact the spirits at all.
In most cases, a psychic can commercialize his or her abilities.
This is rarely seen among mediums because they can lose their ability to communicate with the spirits if they commercialize their services beyond what is necessary for their well being.
A psychic and a medium are different from each other. Just remember that a psychic reads your aura to foretell your future while a medium reads messages from the spirit world.

I realize these remarks are not new however the new age people and people new to the movement might learn from them , Just remembered its Gordons birthday around now regards Jock

When considering what's been said here, members might also wish to reflect on the actual situation found in the big world out there.

I have run threads on several websites over the past couple of years looking at what folks mean when they refer to psychics, mediums and mediumship. Their views have been revealing.

Now I'm pretty clear about psychics and mediums but here on Spiritualism Link it's largely preaching to the choir. I'm sure that some visitors may benefit from an explanation but my experience is that the' New Agers' have altogether a different view about mediums and see Spiritualism's teachings as old hat.

Along with that situation, TV and movies have also presented psychics as mediums and the words are seen as meaning the same by many I've spoken to on various websites. Even as recently as this weekend I've been hearing it from members of a website I've just joined. The simplified definitions I presented for their consideration were directly in line with how Jock explains the Spiritualist position but members were resistant to any such definition or differentiation.

Just occasionally I get positive responses where a reader has had a poor outcome from a sitting - or more accurately, a reading - and can not understand the meaning of so-called information they were given.

I don't know how this situation could be resolved - quite evidently I've made little impact in over two years of trying.

Hi Jock.
There will always be discussions about Pyschics and Mediums.
Sometimes very difficult to tell the difference between the two.
I find I can tell the difference when I am given facts about myself instead of receiving a message from relatives or hubby who's usual message is 'Stop whinging and get on with your life'.

Indeed, Gordon Mons Higginson was born on the 17th November 1918. His second name, Mons, was named by his mother in reference to the Angels of Mons.

Happy birthday, Gordon!

His birth into the spirit world took place on the 18th January 1993.

The first service after his passing took place during the physical mediumship week run by the Noah's Ark Society at Stansted Hall.

On my facebook a lady remarked

The pioneers asked for nothing and wanted for nothing they were well provided for by their patrons. You are entitled to your opinion young lady however to say this is untrue is abit ott.

I have heard of some of the riotous iives mediums live,nothing bad,but why not?
We are here to enjoy our lives so I also say make the most of them.

Actually this is a very nice young lady I referred to and it seems I hit her funny bone' The lady does work as a psychic/medium? in America and has a few books out.
