Dead Men's Embers. Cracking Book

Just finished reading Dead Men's Embers by Gerald O'Hara.
Cracking book. Loads of photos plus old pictures and adverts from Spiritualist press of the times. He looks in depth at York Spiritualist Society over a period of years but also writes about the wider Spiritualist movement. Raises some interesting questions such as.. Was the golden age of Spiritualism and PM quite as golden as some say it was?
A well written and well researched, thought provoking book; published by the Saturday Night Press.

I doubt if it was as golden as some would say, we all seem adept at putting those rose tinted glasses on when our hearts so desire will add the book to my list Peter.

It one of those books that's hard to put down Les. And the photos are amazing, three times more than Faces of the Living Dead plus some other pics and ads that are very enlightening as to what mediums charged then compared to now. He gives you the relative cost compared to today's buying power of the fees.

I MUST read this one!

Well it's me actually writes those reviews. Not being allowed access to any money of my own I have to use Mrs. K's Debit Card, when permitted to do so; to pay for books via Amazon so they only have her name and details.
(Mrs. K is very sensible with money. I on the other hand being a medium.... nuff said!). No idea, never have had. It confuses me.
