Hi All,

Noting Merlin's involvement with ASK Dunfermeline (ASK = Association of Spiritual Knowledge as I understand and there are several of these independent centres each autonomous). The New Age Spiritualist Mission Inc (since 1922) are about to be visited by the leader of the Renfrew ASK Centre Anna Duncan, I hav ebeen in contact with Anna for a long time and look forward to her visit. Anna is being joined by another Glasgow Medium April Mackie who has visited us before. They are with us from January 24th until February 4th and the programme is in the Events section of our website www.nasm.org.au

Visitors to Adelaide frae Glasgow Empty Dunfermline Ask Status

Post by Guest Thu Jan 08, 2009 8:38 am

Hello Jim I feel I must en-lighten you here Dunfermline Ask is an organistaion in its own right and is a non profit limited by garantee company and is a registered charity and registered as a religous organisation. We are on the same legal footing as the SNU. Greater world etc. although smaller. The ASK stands for association of spiritualists and Kindred spirits as in Dunfermline Ask our company name We had a good relationship with Ask Renfrew however when Jack Coll left this has waned a bit Iwill try to establish a better rapore with them once again please pass this on to Anna. I trust you find all in order L&L Jock

[/b] Hello Jim. As you will know Ask Renfrew is moving their web site due to Msn Groups closure however the centre its-self is closed untill March the reason given is that Anna Duncan is in or will be in your country.I feel this is up-setting news not because the lady is away I wish her the very best it is bacause the centre if closed in her absence. I would be apalled if Dunfermline Ask could not carry on if I or any-one else was absent. That I feel applies to any centre or church incuding yours. I do not know why Jack left he will not say any-thing about it however it apears to me if he were there things would be different. I have also been told yesterday of another church in the Black Isle being closed completly due to the president and founder moving on to more complex work at the request of spirit and it seems the COMMITTEE did not or could not carry it on. Hi Jock,

Well I know how hard Anna tried to organise something but of course we all know that it is often hard to get someone willing to step up and take on responsibility. For Anna it was sad but then, as much as she is coming here, she is also on holiday to see her son who lives over in Sydney so a rare chance for them to catch up. Indeed I am aware how much work she put in just before Christmas to a very succesful demonstration to raise funds for charity whilst she had terrible flu.

Like all of us we need and benefit for a break its why the Mission here has a tradition of closure through Christmas and the New Year (it also helps define us as non Christian non aligned).

I exchange emails with Jack who seems fine but has clearly opted to follow a path of his own and I'm sure he is enjoying it.

In terms of the future you have struck a major chord, at the moment I am pleased that we have a good committee but the way life goes now it can change quickly. The days when people volunteered freely are drifting away to many life demands and too many family members working. Life places many demands and creates to a lot of simple distractions. In one form or other I have been working as a volunteer since I was 22, committee of cricket clubs, treasurer, bar manager, volunteer director/treasurer of a community theatre group, junior cricket coordinator etc etc. I know many who would like to help but spare time is too precious to them.

I suspect that we will see other places closing for similar reasons. It can often also create the loss of a mission for Spiritualism as the new people either do not have any real knowledge of it or wish to incorporate the free for all of the new age.

Being involved running things means you always have to be looking to what happens after you go.

I can agree with you there Jim it is because one can see the bigger picture that we can plan ahead a bit however it is difficult for to get others to see the same. I and many others are concerned about the new age people who are only concerned with bums on seats some people in established churches are waning a bit and are dropping their own standards to try and compensate by having more dems and less divine services. I feel the so called new age will not last with the menageries the run and will burn themselves out a bit like the mushroom effect. In the end, I trust spirit will endure and encompass all. L&L Jock

Send healing to them please we are in a heatwave like they will never see in Glasgow. yesterday 100 F, tommorrow and the next 3 days 105+. get the guides to blow cold air around them (and us) before they melt.

Hmm

Now the forecast has changed here yesterday it went even higher than planned just a wee 109.8 degrees fahrenheit (43.2 C) today and tommorrow a touch over 111.2 F (44 C) and staying over the 100 for the rest of the visit.

Didn't stop Anna from running a really good circle last night at our mission where the air conditioning had failed.

If its cold where you are we are stealing all the heat, if it were not for 1939 when they had a 46 and 45.9 it would be setting Adelaide records

Temperature update it only reached 43.4 yesterday, It actually dipped under 30 last night woohoo (29.5). Forecast to hit 42+ today and it is more humid (we have very dry heat hence the cartoon whenever it gets hot here a local always says at least its dry heat not humid like Sydney or Brisbane).

Forecast +40 all the way to next Friday, hope they are wrong but nights will be cooler.

I wonder what overriding memory our two visitors will have when they escape the oven next Wednesday.

Hi Z,

Can they get through the snow or is it too deep I remember the days back in the winter of 1962/63 when on boxing day we ended up with 6 foot drifts in the lane outside of our house on the back lane from Dorking to Newdigate in Surrey. 2+ feet deep on the back garden. Last snow did not clear till the end of March.

Good luck over there at some point last week the temperatures must have been on the way to 60 degees C different.

A mere 38 today , yesterday 39 leaving a run of 5 above 40 C prior to that. 38 38 and 40 before dropping off on Sunday.

In the cooker here our two vistors are mediums well done. They have been real troopers and have worked brilliantly in very trying circumstances (like the power failure at the start of Fridays demo's so April started with a 41 room temperature and no air).

With the mercury as it is our wee dog is not doing much of this.

Hi Ice,

That sounds a great, well this weekend they go to Brisbane, I managed to fix it with Boundary Road Church and they do a Saturday demo and Sunday Service, The following Sunday they are in Victoria and working for Joanne King at Patterson Lakes on the Sunday. Wanted to work in NSW the following week but the contact I had at Enmore Church has not replied. feel like a booking and travel agent to lol.

Hmm Z rough weather I don't know whether they would rather be in that than what we have. Cool overnight dropped back to 22 will make it easier to see through to the weekend when we drop from 40 to 25 for a few days, just after they fly on to Brisbane.
