I frequently attend Melton Spiritualists Church, named the Lighthouse, the house of light. If anyone remembers Gordon McKenzie the organist from VSU , he and his close friend Jenny both became Ministers and started this fast growing Church 3 years ago. Service starts 10.30am Sundays. They run numerous circles, frequently have interesting courses, and have an active social group, library and choir.

Very good question Wes, Lis and I have often thought of declaring ourselve with this title but we feel its innappropriate in Spiritualism. The SNU title involve considerable study in counselling especially on bereavemant and pastoral care. Most of the Aus training and the USA is much more lightweight.

The Lighthouse in Melton is a Christian Spiritualist Church. Gordon and Jenny, the two ministers there, were ordained by the head of the Christian Spiritualist Church in Victoria (Rev. Ian McKenzie).

I was invited to attend that ceremony by a friend. It was quite beautiful and Gordon explained how he and Jenny had travelled the path to that day. By the way, I'm not a 'Christian' in the accepted sense of the word.

I've been to the Church a few times as people I know sometimes do trance lectures. It is a real community and the atmosphere is always welcoming.

I agree with Jim in that Spiritualist 'ordination' seems simply to a matter for each church committee although a little different with the Christian Spiritualists.
