Nice read. The investigators of Ghost Hunters International did not find any haunting evidence when they investigated the Rose Hall plantation. All the same what at great place to hold a seance. affraid

Smile "Ghost Hunters International could not find their own ass with both hands"
That's a quote. Don't shoot the messenger.

My wife and I visited Rose Hall Plantation on our honeymoon cruise, in 2001. Didn't stay long enough to see any ghosts, though. I remember they had a great folk singer.

Those ghost hunting shows on TV are the pits. Daft excitable sorts running round in the dark and screaming like banshees every time one of the camera crew bumps into or drops something.

Funny some time ago I moved into a flat with then girl friend. The old feller who lived there had passed away after a pretty lonely few years. We used the room he had as a living room as a bedroom. I progressively became aware of a figure sitting in the coner looking out of the window. It was so off putting I constructed a built in wardrobe over the area he sat in. However, when we wre out in the day I used to open the door so he could see out.

No involvement with Spiritualism then so I just let him be. Some time after girl friend and I split up met Lis who helped him to move on.

You betcha Jim. There's one born every minute. Any half decent magician performs with the lights on.
Not wishing to sound sacreligious but there's a flash photo of a Jack Webber seance in Ray Branch's Harry Edwards bio Jack is tied in a chair but you can clearly see that the wrist ties are loosened and his assistant to his right has the trumpet to hand on her left . At first glance the sitter to her right is holding both her hands in his but look closely at her left arm and you can see her real left hand in the end of her sleeve the sitter is holding her right hand which she has clasped around a dummy hand both 'hands' resting between his two hands..
Classic.

Bought a flat pack wardrobe back when I was a bachelotr. It said on the box
'a housewife with a screwdriver can assemble this item in twenty minutes'
Took me six months to find a housewife with a screwdriver.

I can understand that, when I build flat pack furniture any other house residents retire to the far distance immediately. It seems they bring out the worst in me and the store of profane expressions in my brain. The classic was building a galvanised iron pre pack shed for a garden in 38C heat, I believe the neighborhood was vacated house by house...but I was young and foolish then (or younger and more foolish)

Thinking about that if I was a Christian I may believe the invention of flat pack furniture was the work of the devil. One wonders then what the inspiration behind IKEA may be.

I spent a year in Ikea once.
One Saurday last October.
Never ever again!
MFI was always good enough for us when we were skint.
Did the job looked OK-ish and reasonably sturdy right up to but never beyond the first time you moved it.

True story.
A few years ago in Transylvanian Romania on holiday huge truck stopped in the village [Aiud, beautiful; you should go ] English driver asked us for directions.
We're tourists so what do we know then we get chatting.
Truck is loaded with flat cardboard cartons 'Made in Sweden' destined for local factory making flat pack furniture for Ikea.
