Post by KatyKing on Tue Jan 24, 2012 6:58 am

'paranthropology'
You'll find it via Google.

Free journal explores the paranormal via an anthropological/social science approach.
Some papers are by spiritualists.
Help him out by reading and commenting if you can. Jack the editor is using it as a reseatrch vehicle for his PhD 'by publication' at Bristol.

That's one more than for me, Mac: Crying or Very sad although I'm new to Spiritualism, and not well-read in the field at all.

It's a broad church is paranthropology lb but what floats my boat is that anthropology deals with what is actually happening rather than what should be happening [that latter being theology in my book]. Anthropological turn saves a lot of time, wishful thinking and general mucking about.
Make the most of the journal it'll not be around much longer unless funding can be found once the editor complete his PhD of which producing the journal forms a part.

There's a lot of it that goes right over my head! It is an academic journal so I suppose that is to be expected Smile

Yep. No one ever got very far in academia by not using at least ten polysylabic words where just one easy word would do the job just as well.
Most of what's in there could be summarised as....
'We're as baffled as the rest of you but we've got research funding to explain that away'.

It's indoor work with no heavy lifting involved is most research. Nice work if you can get it.
